Description
Currently one must copy/paste a URL into the settings dialog for whichever search engine is desired. It would be helpful to have a drop down menu with a few different choices, instead of defaulting to Google.

I can umagine a folder where WP would look for search engines. The url and the search engine favicon should be stored as attributes maybe.

In fact we could use bookmark files for that, they are pretty much what you described. Let's add them to the default WebPositive bookmarks (which we may take the opportunity for moving into Haiku git repo, storing them in a separate zipfile isn't great).

I will try to add the dropdown menu for search engines. What engines should I add?

There is already a list built in the code that you can reuse for a start.
It was added here: https://git.haiku-os.org/haiku/commit/src/apps/webpositive?id=4c1d001d51545424a10792804f8885d2bc257f60
