I took the liberty of reassigning this ticket to rudolfc from PulkoMandy, assuming that it falls within the scope of the current Intel extreme driver work being done.

this is generation 8 gfx. it's ID is not in the driver yet, probably best to leave it as it is for now since we're still struggling to get older generations to get working (first).

Is hrev55639 going to be applicable to this generation of Intel graphics?

Good morning from Holland vidrep.
Your card is generation 8, but LP series: cherryview/Braswell, while I did work a lot on generation 7 and 9. Generation 8 non-LP (broadwell) has DDI, and generation 7 Haswell (has DDI for the first time), which I now have (almost) fully running on generation 9 (DDI, skylake), so there's a good chance it can be made to work on gen7 and 8 DDI now too.
This does not apply for the system of this ticket I'm afraid. Because docs are incomplete though, I cannot yet fully determine if this system does, or does not, have the DDI style interface. I have the feeling it does not have DDI. (If you can find more info, I'd love to see it ;-)
It looks like we best leave it as it is for now: unsupported.
If you have a gen7 or gen8 gfx sysem with DDI interface however, we could have a go at that..
Thanks for checking in!

I'm not sure what info you might need or even where to look. However, I did find this...

Hi there vidrep, exactly, that's the place to look for register level info and stuff. I didn't mean you had to come up with that btw, sorry if you thought that I expected input from you about this :-) It's probably more the other way around, me or someone else working on that driver should checkout the specs and implement stuff for your hardware in the driver..
I haven't been looking at details for your type (LP) yet I must admit, there's a lot todo..
As soon as there's something interesting going on I hope to inform you about it. Thanks for responding!

hi vidrep, could you try a build with the chv pci ids enabled (https://haiku.movingborders.es/testbuild/I15db665d27fe3e3e757c35c2603d693770387067/1/hrev56093/x86_64/ ) and post a syslog? Thanks. It's just to have a baseline on Cherryview.

Sure. Sorry, there are so many differences, interrupts, registers, etc.
What was the stand with the attached syslog? Black screen, corrupted screen?

Haiku isn’t using the Intel extreme driver at all - only the framebuffer.

Replying to vidrep:
Haiku isn’t using the Intel extreme driver at all - only the framebuffer.
I mean, with the test build image, the driver was loaded.

Tried again to refresh my memory. The image on the screen is distorted (looks like everything is compressed into the top half of the screen vertically and multiple horizontal desktops). Sorry for the last comment.

I've attached a pair of photos to show the booted desktop using your test driver.
