I think so, at least I remember the scrolling areas and 2-finger scrolling never working for this notebook.
So, close this issue or remove the "anymore" from the title? :)

Your touchpad does not seem to be of a known type. So I'd say these touchpad settings never worked for you, it just wasn't visible before and the window would pretend to operate normally, but would do nothing?
