Apparently 18 is "Invalid group cipher". Not sure whether that is an AP or a client issue. I use this driver and it connects to 5GHz just fine for me ... can you connect with some other OS?

Yes it works fine for me in Linux.

Please retest after hrev56168. (Make sure you have the intel_wifi_firmwares version 2022_01_11 and wpa_supplicant version 2.10.haiku.1; these won't come with the default nightly images and must be retrieved via pkgman at the moment.)

No reply in 3 months.

As 802.11n and 11ac are supported with this driver now, I can connect to my n/ac-only 5GHz AP without problems, so I am presuming this is fixed more broadly.
