Actually, the behaviour differs whether the mediafile is on a BeFS volume or something else.
Open MediaPlayer -> Settings... In Play mode, you can choose when to resume: always, never or ask every time. This is correctly picked up now, where it used to resume by default.
For Volume of background clips, you can choose Full volume, Low volume or Muted. Independent of the setting one chooses, the clip will play at full volume if it resides on a non-BeFS volume (in my case, a FAT volume for data-exchange). If the clip sits on a BeFS volume, it works as supposed.
Could you be a bit more specific? the volume slider works fine for me, or do you mean something diferent?
As for resuming the setting only affects whether it saves the position on the file, not if it uses it. (maybe that should be made clearer or changed though?)
