kdl on boot from anyboot nightly

Description

Nightly (usually, it seems), refuses to boot from the port on the right (the one that says SS).

The model of the laptop is: Asus VivoBook M712D

Walter (hrev 54905) x86_64

It's an 8-thread Ryzen 3700U, I believe.

It's a 32gb thumb drive

I believe there was nothing on the system’s solid state drive or an installation that did not work (why this should affect the standard booting off of USB I do not know.)

By the way, the installation that did not work sounds a lot like #16753, without the details.
