Better to drop MediaConverter? It does not work! Better to use FFmpeg for this! At least for the Beta 4 release!?

No. MediaConverter still converts AVI files to MPEG4 (I just tested it on hrev56645 x64 with A/V playback using MediaPlayer). An issue I found was in the synch between audio and video playback after conversion (out of sync condition) versus the original file. In this case, this was in the file conversion from AVI to MPEG4/AC-3. I tested AVI to WAV which seemed fine - so specific conversions using MediaConverter need further review.

Probably a duplicate of #17415.
Hard to be sure because there is no backtrace in the debug report.

Please retry after hrev56725 and attach an updated debug report.

MediaConverter looks like it converts the file, but I am not sure if I got the right file. I forgot where I put it. So I have to look for the original file first!
but at least it works! But the file crashed VLC... So I have a VLC debug output only, which I attached...
