Description (last modified by )
Good day,
In the past days I've been experiencing a KDL trip on boot, even with the latest update to #hrev55036 x86_64.
This happens on my test box at work where I share keyboard/mouse between windows and Haiku through a KM switch.
Steps to reproduce:
1- Boot the PC with the KM switch set to windows.
2- Trip to KDL PANIC (photo attached). Nothing can be done in KDL. I mean, if I swicth the KM to the Haiku box, which is already on KDL, no keyboard input there
3- Reboot
4- Switch KM to Haiku before BIOS pops up
5- Haiku boots to desktop
If after stage 3 I keep the KM switch still on windows, I go to KDL again, thus need to have the KM switch set to Haiku before booting Haiku in order for the KDL to not appear.
Regards,
RR
PS: Not sure what to mark here so I didn't mark any component.

Well,
Not sure if related, but with one of the boots, I tried to check again if was 100% KDL with the switch inactive, and it didn't go to KDL, instead booted to desktop, but with no Deskbar.
By "no Deskbar" I mean that the deskbar was not shown on the desktop. The Deskbar process was still running as reported by "ps". I did kill it, to check if Deskbar will come up, but nopes. Had to shut down and boot again to get the Deskbar shown again.
Regards,
RR

Good day,
Update:
The trip to KDL seems to happen on first switch on the computer with the KVM turned to the nonHaiku PC. Once in KDL, no way to do anything, but, pressing the PC's "Reset" button and rebooting, without switching to Haiku, Haiku ends up booting to desktop, then I can switch the KVM to Haiku and works fine.... Of course, until several switching occurs, and then when switching back to Haiku, keyboard and mouse don't respond.
Added new pair of Syslog/Syslog.old of this new "test".

RR

Good day,
With #hrev55585 this issue seems to have disappeared. I can boot whichever box, be it the Windows PC or the Haiiku PC first and don't get a KDL screen. Actually, the "daily routine" is first turn on the Windows PC with the KM switch selecting it, then later boot the Haiku PC and switch to Haiku once Desktop is on. So far so good. No KDL for this issue lately.
I presume this could be closed for now, as it's been a while since I didn't experience this KDL issue.
Thanks!
Regards,
RR
