Description
It may be a good idea to install a SpamFilter for Trac: https://trac.edgewall.org/wiki/SpamFilter
Whilst spam on our Trac instance is thankfully not very heavy, it is good to be able to protect against spam and easily delete any spam.

Ah ok. Is it possible to block users who post spam?

For instance, in the last hour alone, there are 100 entries in the spam filter, of which 2 are legitimate (and were let through) and the other 98 were spam and deleted as such.
Yes, we can delete users who post spam, though they rarely come back anyway. If you see users that post spam more than once, ask an admin to delete their account.

Oh wow, looks like the spam filter's really effective, which is good.
I'll keep an eye out for users who post spam more than once.
Thanks!

For extra information, we have spent quite some time adjusting the spam filter setting, if we make it more strict, it starts to think legitimate posts are spam, asks everyone to fill captchas, and rejects posts sometimes even after succesfully solving the captcha.
It's better to have a little spam go through, than to prevent everyone from interacting with Trac because the filter thinks everything is spam.
It looks like our recent release attracted the attention of spambots, I guess that is, in a way, good news?

I think the changes to the registration system which added the question field may have inadvertently disabled the spam filter due to a bug in the Trac admin pages. I edited the INI and it seems to be working again, hopefully we will see less spam.
We already have this installed and it catches most spam already. But some does tend to get through...
