[hrev55464] When using "Haiku", the CPU FAN is not spinning. — at Version 1

Reported by: FuRuYa7 Owned by: nobody
Priority: normal Milestone: Unscheduled
Component: - General Version: R1/beta3
Keywords: FAN Cc:
Blocked By: Blocking:
Platform: x86-64

Description (last modified by FuRuYa7)

When using "Haiku", the CPU FAN is not spinning. Therefore, the housing of the personal computer gets hot. Using it at high CPU temperatures will shorten the life of your computer. Therefore, "Haiku" cannot be used for a long time at present.

When I used "Xubuntu 20.04.3" in that state, the CPU FAN rotated and the PC case got cold.

-

### I used "Xubuntu 20.04.3" to check the temperature of my PC:

` $ uname -r 5.11.0-37-generic `

-

#### When using "Haiku", the PC housing gets hot:

` $ cat /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp 67000 `

-

#### I'm using "Xubuntu 20.04.3" and after a while:

` $ cat /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp 43000 `

#### PC used:

-

#### Remarks:

The firmware of "ASUS Chromebox CN60" is "coreboot". I ran "Install / Update UEFI (Full ROM) Firmware" in "Firmware Utility Scripts" in "[MrChromebox.tech](https://mrchromebox.tech/)".

As a result, the PC boots in UEFI. It is an ordinary PC that cannot start "Chrome OS".
