Support Atheros AR8152 v1.1 Ethernet Controller

Reported by: e3bc54b2 Owned by: nobody

Description

I have an old Acer Aspire One netbook where Haiku runs OK.

The Wireless card is a BCM for which a ticket is already open, but the Ethernet card is according to listdev

Vendor 1969: Qualcomm Atheros device 2060: AR8152 v1.1 Fast Ethernet

I do not have an external adapter yet, so getting proper support for Ethernet card will make the machine useful. I can test night lies if needed, but as of this writing, latest nightly boots, but does not load desktop.

Platform: x86-64All
Type: enhancementbug

This chipset should already be supported by the "atheros813x" driver, so this is a bug; likely the fact that you cannot boot to desktop is related.

Nightly has some issue with display, but got to desktop by loading fail-safe graphics drivers. No other boot option was modified. Ethernet still didn't connect. Syslog attached.

Well, based on the syslog, the driver initializes and there are no errors. So that's strange.

Does atheros813x interface show up in Network preflet? What is the output of ifconfig?

After a lot of testing, turns out the Ethernet cable was damaged. After fixing that, ethernet is working and I'm able to access the internet. Thanks for help! Closing the ticket.
