Description
Unsure what component this applies to.
I have Haiku installed on metal on an Acer Aspire 7738G laptop.
It has a trackpad which works well out of the box, with a physical on/off switch which you can use to turn trackpad input on or off; e.g. if you want to wipe it down or if you use an external mouse.
Turning it off via the physical button works on Haiku, but turning it on again doesn't register on Haiku's end and I am stuck with a nonfunctional trackpad that's perma-off until the next reboot. I believe it's not a problem with the switch itself as its diode turns on and off accurately based on what the state should be. Haiku probably doesn't check for input devices after they have been disconnected once.

Replying to diver:
Anything is syslog when you try to turn it on?
There is no update to the syslog on turning it either off or on. Using the physical switch does not get logged in syslog at all.
