according to listdev there is more than one multimedia device reported:

does it mean the hda audio driver is working for the intel audio device?

That was my understanding but please correct me if it's not the case.

hello, i am not hearing any audio when trying to playback an audio file. from what i can tell it is working not for either the nvidia or the intel device (with the default settings). i tried adjusting the volumes in the audio control panel but no changes either.

As a workaround you can blocklist hda driver and install opensound package and reboot.

Please check with hrev55842 or newer.

after updating to hrev55843 i was able to hear audio when playing back a file with audio with the default settings on this same machine. adjusting the volume also worked. thanks!
