#17554 new enhancement

Remove/Rename some options in Media pref's mixer setup

Description (last modified by humdinger)

As discussed in the thread Explain the Audio Mixer Setup options of Media preferences:

  • Remove the option "Attenuate mixer output by 3 dB (like BeOS R5)". It stays the default behaviour. (There hasn't been much feedback on that in the ML thread, but a quick web research suggests tat providing this 'headroom' is often used to avoid clipping.)
  • Remove the option "Use non linear gain sliders (like BeOS R5)". It stays the default behaviour.
  • The options for "Resampling algorithm" can be renamed to:

a) "Low quality (drop/repeat samples)"

b) "Better quality (linear interpolation)"

(with maybe a future option for a "High quality" algorithm)

I may provide a patch for this, but since I haven't been able to build Haiku for many month (see #17428) it'd be 'blind'...
