Description
Recently, the topic of Stack&Tile and how to control it via 'hey' came up in the forums. This got me thinking, and I'd like to file this idea as enhancement in case it inspires someone to implement it one day. I'm aware this is putting the carriage before the horse, as it only describes the user facing side of it, not caring about the things needed behind it all to make it work...
The idea deals with saving/loading stack&tiled apps/windows between sessions.
Imagine you had some stack&tile arrangement of a few apps/windows. If you hold the OPT key - used for all S&T related actions - an additional icon appears in the active tab of the S&T-arrangement. Right-click and dragging the icon onto the Desktop creates a launcher file with a mix of the icons of the apps involved.
Double-clicking the launcher file opens all those apps with those documents in that S&T-arrangemet (or put into ~/config/settings/boot/launch/
will autostart them).
By not 'simply' saving all current S&T-arrangements on shutdown, to be re-established on the next boot-up (could be some system settings as well), you could save different project-arrangements and start them via their launch-file at will.
Also possible, a launcher file could be opened with a LauncherEditor to edit some properties, like what documents an app should load, or what location a Tracker window shows, or on what workspace to open etc.
