so in a way, after few hours working on it : haiku is started on the efi-managed computer by grub2.

when I start it, the screen is totally blank until desktop. to reach desktop, I have, when haiku is selected, to shift the boot menu

  • then three times, enter
  • then three times, escape
  • then one time down arrow
  • then one time enter
  • the system feels booting
  • then the screen shows up the desktop.

absolutely nothing is shown between grub2 boot and haiku desktop. in another hand, when the hk bootup menu looks here (blinded so..) if I do just a enter, nothing is done.

if I do a down arrow, enter, nothing.

on the third (and latest) down arrow choice (mean down arrow pressed twice) the laptops reboots immediately.

it's very weird because efi-based haiku bootmenu is different than the traditionnal bios/standard bootmenu, where more than three choices could be done, before the reboot one. Here, looks like only two.. and nothing appears on the screen so debug the keyb/mouse problem is a bit an issue

btw, I noticed about 1 over ten boots allows touchpad/keyboard perfectly. Almost rest of the time, just poweroff by using powerbutton, nothing else works..
