#18191 new enhancement

NVidia Geforce GTX 1060 Mobile Graphics Card driver

Reported by: cafeina Owned by: rudolfc
Priority: normal Milestone: Unscheduled
Component: Drivers/Graphics/nVidia Version: R1/Development
Keywords: nvidia, gpu, gtx1060 Cc:
Blocked By: Blocking:
Platform: All

Description (last modified by cafeina)

GP106BM [GeForce GTX 1060 Mobile 6GB]
NVIDIA Corporation
device/type 0x3
device/subtype 0
device/interface	0
device/vendor 0x10de
device/id 0x1c60

There is no driver or accelerant.

It currently runs on a laptop with native resolution 1920x1080 in built-in screen, but I think it runs in VESA mode, probably the same situation with #17680.

Due to not having drivers, it cannot output to a secondary monitor through HDMI (DisplayPort port not tested).

Would have to port pscnv driver to Haiku and update source code:

Hi, Thanks for the pointer! I just cloned the bsd driver to have a closer look at it (currently peeking at nouveau and testing some stuff in our older nvidia driver but I keep hitting a problem I need to solve still: maybe another view into the nouveau code via this bsd 'version' helps me get a clearer view)

Mind you, just poking around a bit, don't get your hopes up on my account ;-)

Replying to marcoapc:

Architecture: Pascal

No luck. Open source Nvidia kernel drivers are for Turing+ only.

Any improvement to the nvidia driver for Haiku is welcome, even if it's small and doesn't cover all the latest cards!
