ION graphics (geforce 9400m) resolution issue

Description
I have a 1024x600 external monitor my tiny Onkyo Nexterm P305
Haiku only recognises 800x600.
I have tried shift on boot... but 800x600 is the highest resolution. Have changed the usual boot drive driver vesa line to "1024 600 32" with carriage return.
graphics board is NVIDIA 9400m (ION) with Atom CPU.
Monitor usually detected as 1024x600 in windows, Mac OS and Mint Linux, Raspberry pi os.
