Failed to change the package activation in packagefs : name in use

Fresh install of hrev57257 32bit. Went to SoftwareUpdater and it started updates but failed after a while with the following.

Updates did not complete
failed to commit transaction: failed to change the package activation in packagefs : name in use

Error persists across reboots. Did not try another clean install.
