I see that you are running in QEMU. Do you have KVM enabled? Can you retest on bare metal?

From my understanding it is. My hypervisor is Proxmox which uses QEMU and KVM.

I just noticed the "value: deadbeef", so this is really a use-after-free.

stress-ng --sem-sysv 128

reproduces the problem quickly.
