DriveSetup, change properties, tool does not show the Active status of partition

If in Applications/Drive Setup, I select a partition and go to menu (or right click) and Change properties and, in resulting window, mark it Active/Inactive, by checking/unchecking the box -- then if later I open same menu, the box does not preserve my check mark.

This is confusing as to whether this function actually works (though it seems to work).
