Description
with hrev24167 and the notebook is http://www.fujitsu-siemens.com/home/products/notebooks/amilo_li_1705.html data sheet: http://extranet.fujitsu-siemens.com/VIL/dmsp/75/ab/ds_amilo_li_1705.pdf
for your convenience: hdd: 160GB SATA hard disk chipset: VIA VN896 + VT8237A
- no serial
- a note reading the debug messages on the
screen, that may help:
- although the disk have been recognized as sata
the partitions are reported as /dev/disk/ata/* (i don't know if this is expected as normal)
- i have a working qemu on a linux installation in
the notebook, if i try : qemu -serial stdio -hda /dev/hda is it going to help a bit ?
- If the stack trace lines have a value, ?
i will type them by hand :)

Replying to kaoutsis:
added a serial log produced by qemu, booting from the real hard disk, may it give you some info?
a difference that i noticed is that in the real boot log, there are infos about the real partitions and the are reported as /dev/disk/ata/* but in the qemu log there are missing completely. I don't know why.

hrev25138, but this time installation was in sda1, it booted successfully. I guess, all the operating systems love the first partition :-) I will attach the syslog, in case that gives some infos.
