Description
The Haiku project lacks routines, tools and documentation to produce high quality packages.
This came up when trying to figure out why Kate (a text editor) resolves a lot of dependencies that are not needed, such as audio- and video codecs.

No change is required on the Haiku side to fix this, as it's entirely up to the HaikuPorter ecosystem to manage this.
As I replied on the forums, Kate is fine, it's Qt5 that could be broken up more here to avoid so many packages being installed.
Meanwhile, #18718 is a good suggestion and indeed would be useful.
This is so vague, can't be identified as a bug.
