Description
Whether ethernet (ipro1000) or wifi (idualwifi7260), network isn't available until some considerable time after the desktop is all up. About 20 seconds. It isn't fatal or anything, just thought it would be worth mentioning. I test it with gethostbyname(), but nothing works - ping, etc.

Yes, currently both devices have static configuration. Though in that session, I expect only the ipro1000 ethernet was active.

More of a digression, I guess. I spent some time trying different builds via USB, and couldn't reliably duplicate it that way. So I built a new install at hrev57973 and it works reasonably well.
Possible explanations: 1) something in the build I was working with ca. 57936, or ...
2) trouble between the two network devices, ipro1000 and idualwifi7260. With my new build, I went back to DHCP and (maybe coincidentally) problems got much worse, the wifi couldn't configure at all - until I disabled the ethernet ipro1000, which wasn't plugged in.
It's possible that this problem started when in my enthusiasm over the network improvements I ran a test on the ethernet, that being the first time that device had ever been used. Had I then disabled it afterwards, I might not have encountered the reported problem.
Anyway, at this time the wifi takes a few seconds to get set up, and is usable right away after that. So I reckon this report can be closed for spuriousness.

Nothing interesting in the syslog. I don't even see DHCP, are you using static interfaces?
