#19094 new bug

No audio!

Reported by: Baltazar Owned by: korli
Priority: normal Milestone: Unscheduled
Component: Drivers/Audio/AC97 Version: R1/beta5
Keywords: Cc:
Blocked By: Blocking:
Platform: All

Description

Unfortunately I still have no audio on my machine with beta4. Everything else seems to be working fine.

TOSHIBA Satellite A75-S229

Processor and Chipset

  • Mobile Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor 538 supporting HT Technology 3.20GHz, 1MB L2 cache, 533MHz Front Side Bus
  • ATI MOBILITY™ RADEON™ 9000 IGP

I did try the open sound system package on the last beta4 but no luck, have not tried that on this new beta5 though.

Let me know if you need more information about the machine or system logs...

Please attach a syslog.

comment:2 by Baltazar, 4 days ago

Please provide instructons on how to generate, find or create said syslog. Unfortunately I'm not that familiarized with debugging haiku.

From the welcome guide: The syslog is written to the file /boot/system/var/log/syslog.

The output of the listdev command may also be helpful.

Navigating to get the Syslog is a bit odd! Syslog is atached, here is the listdev output from the Terminal app:

Component: Audio & VideoDrivers/Audio/AC97
Keywords: audio removed
Owner: changed from nobody to korli

I'm not sure we have a driver for this AC97 variant. At least I don't see any indicators in the syslog that we do.

just one comment:

I found the datasheet for your laptop and it says it's a Realtek ALC259
