Wi-fi doesn't work even with a "supported" network card

Description
I’ve recently installed Beta 5 (hrev57937+113, 32-bit) on an Asus Eee laptop; it shows no available wireless networks even though my network card – RT3090 Wireless 802.11n 1T/1R PCIe – is supposed to be supported. It worked fine on Windows 7 (I'm dual booting).
Note: the database I've linked to makes a mistake in the vendor name, however, the current Ralink diver list has something similar to mine.
You will find the syslog here and the output of listdev here.
I'm creating this ticket after I was directed from the replies on the forum post I made. A couple of hypotheses were proposed but I won't relay them here for fear of misrepresenting them, it's probably best to check the thread out directly.

That "supported devices" page is unofficial.
I'm not sure this driver even works properly anymore, to be honest.
