Bug with ATI radeon drivers seen when changing screen resolution and switching workspaces

Description

When I switch workspaces, my screen goes dark for a few seconds and afterwards there are lots of graphical glitches and artifacts like messed up colors on the screen.

This also occurs when I change the screen resolution and clears after a restart.

Well this is embarrasing! I thought that the graphical glitches would carry over into the screenshot but I guess I was wrong. I will upload a picture of my screen showing what the glitches look like.
