#19313 new bug

constant subtle rattling noise in the background with no sound playing

Reported by: grexe Owned by: nobody

Description (last modified by grexe)

In Haiku (and only in Haiku, not in Linux or Windows), I can hear a constant rattling background noise that sounds like a 2.5" hard drive (it's an SSD only system).

On some occasions (I have to test this more), this noise shortly disappears, only to come back soon.

Seems to be a driver/audio level issue, but no setting in Media prefs could fix it, and restarting doesn't help, either.

SW: Haiku nightly hrev58442

HW:

Starbook V, Intel Tigerlake 11gen

Please try changing some audio output settings in Media preferences and see if anything changes, especially the sampling rate.
