    11- The missing // in the URL is not important
    22- The issue is not with local files in general, they seem to work as expected (that is, they will load as long as they have a mimetype that the browser knows how to handle). But there is an issue specifically with the welcome page not working

     4The page itself loads fine, but it is a frontend page that will try to find if the welcome page is available locally (from the haiku_welcome package) and then try to load it from the web if not. That part seems to freeze at some point.
