#19353 new bug

mail body not always downloaded from IMAP with selective subscriptions

Reported by: grexe Owned by: axeld
Priority: normal Milestone: Unscheduled
Component: Servers/mail_daemon Version: R1/Development
Keywords: Cc:
Blocked By: Blocking:
Platform: All

Description

I have set up two identical IMAP accounts on GMail. The only differences are:

  • the e-mail (obviosuly)
  • one account (which exihits the issue) only has some IMAP folders subscribed

May be related to #8948. Using latest hrev58522.

I don't want to download all cruft from my mail e-mail account, only important and starred mails, which GMail keeps in separate folders, which I have subscribed to.

Although they contain new mail, mail_daemon does not download it and in exisiting messages, I often experienced missing body issue (see linked issue). It seems though that manually checking for mail triggers a new authentication? (using app passwords) which fixes the body download issue, but not the missing new mail issue.

I have no such issues with my 2nd account with identical settings and all IMAP folders subscribed.

Does the same happen with non-google services?

Anyhow, to debug this further:

launch_roster stop <signature of mail_server service> (check this... something with "post")

/system/servers/mail_server

Check if there is relevant output there.
