Comment text form field in Wordpress blog not working

I suspect it will affect several if not all Wordpress blogs, but maybe it's also the theme. In any case, the textview in the "Comment" does not work at all:

1. initially, it's rendered correctly
2. as soon as you hover it, the redraw flickers
3. when clicking inside, the text field's layout changes and breaks
4. you cannot enter anything, at least nothing is drawn.
