Description
Strange folder one could find in haiku image: /boot/common/config/fonts Seems like build system create it for some unknown reason.

But doesn't /boot/beos/etc should be used? BTW, It's not related to build system, original image doesn't have this folder, /boot/common on system boot.

This is not really a bug: there will be a "common" directory somewhere in Haiku to place files that are common for all users. It's position is not yet final, though. Deviations from R5 aren't necessarily bugs.
IOW the change in hrev16467 is incorrect, as it would prevent node monitoring from working correctly. I'll revert it.
