Description

We need a Haiku video that shows off the power of queries. I've seen koki do his magic live before, but what we need to do is to have that captured as a video and put up on the website.

That would be a good sample video to include with Haiku itself.

I know how to do the demo, but I have close to zero video creation/editing skills and capabilities.

I could put my video camera on a tripod and do the demo in front of it, so that people know what it is about. Someone can then take that and edit it, or recreate it from scratch by using some of the cool video authoring software that is available to create videocasts. If this is something that would help, I could do it; but I would need some time.

Not sure about Qemu, but other emulators allow you to record a video of what is going on. That will look much much better than any setup that includes a video camera.

Would BeScreenCapture (http://www.bebits.com/app/3749) impossible to get working in Haiku?

Axel is right (as usual). :) I got VMWare WS running and video capture seems to work fine. Will try to see if I can find some time to produce something this week.

What could be pretty nice is kind of what was the BeOS presentation videos (part 1 and 2 -> ), but by topic. First one could be LiveQueries, but there is also a lot of thing that people should see in Haiku (FTP-FS, .pkg simplicity, ...)

This Compiz presentation is, to me, a nice one: http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=E4Fbk52Mk1w. Funny music, simple and quick point by point presentation with back panel with white text fade in fade out. Easy to do, funny to watch... nope ?
