#3654 closed enhancement (invalid)

selected area disappear, if you click the menu to edit them

Reported by: chico Owned by: korli
Priority: normal Milestone: R1
Component: Applications/StyledEdit Version: R1/pre-alpha1
Keywords: Cc:
Blocked By: Blocking:
Platform: All

Description

  1. open styledEdit.
  2. type a few words.
  3. select a few of them. then click the menu -> font. The selected area will disappear.

Expected: like ubuntu, or other text edit in other os. If you selected the area, and then we want to edit them. The selected area should not disappear. Otherwise, users will be confused.

Resolution: invalid
Status: newclosed

Tested on R5Bone, native. Haiku exhibits the same behavior as BeOS. When the menu is activated, the highlighted section will appear to become non-highlighted. This is only a visual effect. Once the menu loses focus, the selected region automatically regains its highlighted visual appearance.

Closing as invalid. Feel free to re-open if R5's behavior is undesirable in this particular case.
