Description
With hrev32630, Haiku reboot my laptop (VAIO CS 11) before highlighting the first icon while booting on a USB hard drive.
I enter the Haiku boot menu to choose the partition with hrev32630 on the USB hard drive. Then, i continue booting. My laptop reboot a few seconds later.
I have tried with safe mode options, but i still have the same problem. Older revision like hrev32080 are ok on this same configuration.
Any idea about what is going on ?
Unfortunately, i can't collect debug output on this machine.

Do you boot that external drive using an older bootloader? If so it is likely that you have an incompatible version of the bootloader. There was a recent change to one of the structs passed from the bootloader to the kernel. If you're using an old bootloader and try to boot a new kernel you will see such reboots.

I finally understand my mistake. I was using an older bootloader as i choose the test partition in the boot menu. And i forgot i was booting from my old "stable" partition, with an old bootloader. The menu only select the new kernel, not the entire chain from the target partition as i was naively expecting. So, this bug is invalid.

That's what I tried getting at in the other comment.

Yes, your message was indeed very helpful. My brain was just too distracted to really understand it last week. I figure this last weekend but i forgot to update the ticket until today.
Would it be possible for you to binary search revisions to narrow down which one broke it?
