#5270 closed bug (fixed)

About Mail expects its title to be in English

Description

In translations of the Mail application in which the title "Mail" happens to be longer than four letters, letters after the fourth one are not in the right font. I'm not really smart enough to fix this myself. :)

I suspect this might be problematic in other programs as well once we get around to localizing them.

cpufrequency is doing the same. I think the easy fix is to switch to more regular about boxes.

http://siarzhuk.dyndns.org/haiku/doxygen/classBAboutWindow.html This class should be used for this purpose. It's already done in the locale preflet if you want a sample use.

Do you want to do the patch, or should I fix it myself ?

The BAboutWindow structure (written by A, B .. Z, copyright YYYY-YYYY Haiku Inc) can not correctly describe the copyright situation of Mail. It's copyright -both- Be Inc and Haiku Inc (and possibly a few individual authors) and BAboutWindow only allows for Haiku. Also "written by" implies, IMO, people of flesh and blood. Authors. Legal entities can hold copyright, but I don't think they can ever be considered authors of the work.
