#5371 closed bug (invalid)

Loss of boot partitions at boot

Reported by: stellar_power Owned by: nobody
Priority: normal Milestone: Unscheduled
Component: - General Version: R1/alpha1

Platform: x86

Description

Hello,

I get KDL at startup:

PANIC: get_boot_partitions failed! k debug> continue PANIC: did not find any boot partitions! k debug> continue PANIC: could not mount boot device!

I had a quick look at the syslog. I'm no developer or anything, but the first error I seemed to find was this:

Could not load "scsi_cd" error -2147483644 Could not load "scsi_disk" error -2147483644 Could not load "uhci" error -2147459069 Could not load "usb" error -2147459069

I have had problems with USB (see ticket 5355), but never a crash at boot like this. Almost straight after this, the entry for KDL appears on the log.

Thanks very much.

Sorry-forgot hardware details

I am running a modified Compaq Presario SR1000 with an MS 6577 motherboard and 1G DDR RAM. This is my BIOS version:

Apparently fixed - bad drivers from external source removed.
