Description

When I have my mouse in the content area of a webpostive window, my cursor dissapears. It will reappear for a short while If I jiggle the mouse. I Don't know if this is an intended effect, but I find it distracting.

update: I see now that there is an option for it. Silly me didn't see it. All I want from this bug report is for that option to be unchecked by default, as I find it distracting.

It's intended, since the mouse cursor is on top of what you are trying to see. Just turn it off in the settings if it irritates you.

I definitely welcome hiding the cursor for text fields, but I agree with the OP that doing it all the time is somewhat unexpected. I can't say I've ever really noticed the mouse cursor getting in the way when reading a webpage, but I certainly do notice the difficulty of finding it again when wanting to click something. So much of the internet relies on mouse navigation I feel hiding the cursor is a mistake.

So I'd agree that the default should be not to hide the cursor. I also wonder if it really needs to be a setting - but then the "mouse getting in the way" problem has obviously annoyed you enough to implement the feature Stephan, so I guess it's likely to stay ;)

Alright then, I've changed the default in hrev515. Package updated in hrev36898.

Replying to diver:

hrev515 still hides cursor when you start typing URL.

All BTextControls do that.

Ahh, right.

It will also hide it when you start typing anywhere in the webpage, even if not inside a text input, like when you use the cursor keys for scrolling. I *really* believe that this is how it should work. :-)
