Description
I wanted to try using the transparent white HAIKU logo as my background image when I discovered that the default one actually has the solid blue background.
The image I was using was: http://dev.haiku-os.org/browser/haiku/trunk/data/artwork/HAIKU%20logo%20-%20white%20on%20transparent%20-%20big.png
The attached image shows the result.
This should just show the background color through the alpha transparency of the PNG so that people can change their background color without having to create a new custom non-alpha blended image to match it. (much less simply display it correctly even if it were just flattening it to some arbitrary or stored background color if alpha blending is not available)

Sorry idefix, I honestly did try finding other tickets relating to this before submitting it. Missed it at the top of the 4th page of results when I searched for "png background".

Don't feel bad, it happens to all of us eventually. :)

Not strictly relating to this ticket, but maybe interesting for your actual use-case... Can I interest you in OverlayImage? Unfortunatly it's not part of the official image as a demo, but if you compile things yourself... I actually think about just putting it on Haikuware...

I just created a new 20GB VM last night in preparation for pulling down the source and starting to build my own images. :) So it's serendipitous that you mention it. Thanks.
what happens when you try using the transparent Haiku logo as your background image.
