[auich] doesn't preduce any sound on ICH4

I have Acer TravelMate 2303LC. Haiku alpha3.
No sound when playing music and video, but slider moves. Tried both MediaPlayer and CL-Amp.

Removing auich and installing OpenSound helps.

I think its a dupe, I only found this out by accident. I got distracted and then after a few minutes of being on the phone I got audio. so now I know I just need to let whatver happens happen but without the ticket starter responding it'd be difficult to confirm.

Can you check if restarting media services from Media preflet changes anything. Note that you have to restart MediaPlayer each time you restart media services due to #1955. Also syslog wouldn't hurt.

Makes no difference, it takes a few minutes, there is another ticket, I will try that remedy tommorow and post back and include a syslog as well. http://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/7284

the fix in ticket 7284 resolved my issues with Auich, it looks like the settings file is not being installed for some reason. But the fix in that ticket totally resolves the problem !!!!!

So that's at least 3 different people who confirm Pete's fix then.. Looks like there are several tickets that can be closed as duplicates of #7284, by the look of the Timeline (ticket updates) in the past week.

Remove milestone for tickets with status = closed and resolution != fixed
I get a issue with this on ich4 but if you let the driver run with a ideo file for 5-15 minutes you eventually get sound. Opensound would get glitchy and have decoding issues after 5-20 minutes watching a movie.
