OK, so I haven't actually used a working version of the component field.
I see between page refreshes the <select> component forgets the selection. *adds to todo list*

Fixed bug in relation to main comment, get it while its hot (and please break/test)
How do I refer to earlier comments? Bugzilla had "comment 4" syntax. Anyhow, wkornew's bug is a problem with Trac adding an extra option at the end of the list. Can problem fix that their end.

You can refer to earlier comments by writing the name of the reporter. ;)
Is the new version already integrated? The component still stays at "apps" although I changed it to drivers/audio/ac97.

Not only that. The component field always stays at "apps" and there is a duplicate entry for the actual value. I.e.: if you select "desktop" the component field is "apps", but at the end of the list there is a duplicate "desktop" entry.
