onboard Sound card not recognized; Delll optiplex gx1

I tried playing wav files thru the media player, but no sound. In the media preferences, it says i have no audio output on both haiku and linux. I have speakers plugged in to the onboard sound. I got sound on windows when I used to have windows installed. I installed opensound thru installoptionalpackage but it didn't work.

According to ​specs it has an audio chip CS4236. And AFAIK ISA is not supported by Haiku.

Are there plans to support this later? Is there a reason this isn't supported by Open sound system?

Seeing that it also didn't work under Linux, this would probably have required dedicated drivers. I don't think there is any interest in supporting legacy ISA devices at this point, so closing this. There is unfortunately no "won't fix" resolution, so I'm using "no change required".
