Try to boot from usb using anyboot nightly image. You can also try to dd raw partition to your hard drive partition.

Sorry - don't have that large USB stick at hand to try that now. I did DL a nightly RAW and are trying to write that to my HDD, in place of my my current broken Haiku A2. Should I be using "bs=1m" when writing raw to HDD? Also, my current Haiku partition is 4GB. What will happen if I dd the 500MB image in to that partition?

Not with a prebuilt image, the filesystem size is fixed at the point of initialization, so dd'ing it over will simply result in a 500MB filesystem regardless. You'd need to be able to try to install to the 4GB partition via Installer or build an image to it from another OS in order to get at the full capacity.
