#8646 closed bug (invalid)

PANIC: Did not find any boot partitions

Reported by: lgp Owned by: marcusoverhagen

Component: Drivers/Disk Version: R1/alpha3

Description

This bug appears to have been reported and gone away a couple of times.

I am trying to install R1Alpha3 from CD. I have tried downloading and burning twice. Once with DiskUtility on a Mac, and once with InfraRecorder on Win7. The box is an out-of-the-box Dell Precision T7500 with 2 x E5506 Xeons and 6 G of memory. There are two internal Hitachi HDS72101 1T drives. One is partitioned with Win 7 and 4G free, intended for Haiku. The other has one 150G windows partition used for backup and two partitions of approx 400 G each now empty but intended for Ubuntu and FreeBSD.

When I boot from CD, the panic occurs when the 4th icon lights up.

What kind of disk controller is in that system out of curiosity? The output of lspci or some other similar tool would be interesting to see.
