Trash icon sometimes doesn't change to full — at Initial Version

Description
Occasionally the trash icon will show the empty trash can even though things will be in it. It doesn't always happen. I've tried figuring out in what situations but so far have been unsuccessful I can't seem to reproduce it at will and if you empty it, it will return to the expected behavour. This is on hrev44293.
NB: I don't know what component to select, sorry.
