Haiku freezes at blue screen with pointer

Description (last modified by diver)

Unless I boot in safe mode, I can't get to the desktop. I get as far as a medium-blue colored screen with a hand pointer in the middle, and there is no response if I move the mouse...it appears to be frozen.

In safe mode, I can get through to the desktop.

This has been the situation for a couple months. hrev44242 was fine for me and I can still boot to that and everything runs fine. But with the latest nightly build and all the others I've tried in a while, I can't.

Below is a link to a screen grab of the debug info I was able to photograph off the screen in screen debug mode. It is the last page of debug info I could get to by doing space, space, space.

Might be because of some recent AHCI changes?

Is this the same computer as in ticket:8649 you created? If so, are you using your build of the emuxki driver with the nightlies?

Good catch...thanks for reminding me of that! After reviewing that ticket and what resolved it that time, I was able to get around the problem by just hiding the MPU401 MIDI driver. Thank goodness it was something that simple.
