Haiku freezes at blue screen with pointer — at Initial Version

Description
Unless I boot in safe mode, I can't get to the desktop. I get as far as a medium-blue colored screen with a hand pointer in the middle, and there is no response if I move the mouse...it appears to be frozen.
In safe mode, I can get through to the desktop.
This has been the situation for a couple months. R44242 was fine for me and I can still boot to that and everything runs fine. But with the latest nightly build and all the others I've tried in a while, I can't.
Below is a link to a screen grab of the debug info I was able to photograph off the screen in screen debug mode. It is the last page of debug info I could get to by doing space, space, space.
