I will fill in all I know about the old Open GL/3D that Rudolf did.
I hade a lot of hardware so I could test his work back then.
His work was built using this as references http://utah-glx.sourceforge.net/
Back then 2005-2006 we had another OpenGL Implementation. I think Alexander von Gluck IV rewrote much of it and now we "only" need to implement a Hardware version, same as the software.
I can be wrong about what's need to be done so someone can correct me here :)
