#10234 assigned bug
Tracker doesn't handle unidentified files on read-only media correctly

Description
Double-clicking an unidentified text file on a read-only volume doesn't bring up a text editor as expected, nor does the "Open with..." menu suggest one.
Apparently Tracker relies on letting the registrar update the file's type attribute first and then uses the attribute. Obviously that doesn't work for read-only volumes.
