Description

Hello, so far I have no been able to get any AVI file to play in MediaPlayer, I get an error asking to terminate or debug. I know mpeg, mp4, and divx files work just fine. I don't seem to have any AVI file that will play. This has been an ongoing thing, and I never thought much about it, since I used VLC, but after a reinstall of Haiku, VLC seems to have disappeared from the HaikuDepot.

I know I'm not giving much to go on, if someone has any idea of how I can find out more about what format these AVI files are, I can do that.

Thanks

Hi, I have downgraded ffmpeg to 0.10.14 again, however the package manager doesn't handle downgrades fully. Make sure you remove the ffmpeg 0.11 packages and install 0.10.14 again, and that should fix it.

I am still having the same problems with the older ffmpeg. I clicked on "Save Report", incase that helps

Could you share one of the files showing this problem for investigation?

Nothing I have the right to distribute. Smallest example is 142MB, which might be a bit too big to email. All of my home movies in avi format work fine though, too bad since they are only a few megs each. I can email you the download link to one of the series that is causing so much trouble. Don't want to taint Haiku's good name by posting it here. You can just get one episode from the download, no need to get them all.
